Event Rules

• You must own the full copyright of the work.

• Only original, unpublished songs will be accepted. Previously released tracks and remixes will be disqualified.

• Songs may contain lyrics in any language, provided they adhere to basic moral norms (being SFW and non-political).

• If your song includes lyrics, please provide them with your submission. If the lyrics are not in Chinese, English or Japanese, please provide a translation into Chinese or English. Please kindly ensure that the translation is accurate.

• AI-generated or AI-assisted work are prohibited.

• Each composer may submit up to TWO songs.

• Please kindly submit ONE song per form submission.

• If more than TWO songs are submitted, only the first TWO received will be reviewed.

• Collaborative songs are permitted. However, participation in a collaborative song will count towards your individual submission limit.

• There are no time signature restrictions. Step-wise BPM changes are acceptable, with a timing map provided in the format of "Miliseconds, BPM, Time Signature." We do not encourage utilizing linear or a parabolic curved BPM spanning multiple measures to express ritardando or accelerando (a gradual decrease or increase in speed respectively). Rubato is acceptable as long as the MIDI information are still within a fixed BPM.

• The recommended song duration is 2:05 to 2:25, with a maximum allowable length of 2:50. Submissions exceeding the max length may incur a scoring penalty.

• Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in disqualification.

• To request an adjustment to a submitted work, please contact "song-submission@dreamengine.games" with a email titled "Song Adjustment (Artist Name)". Each entrant may request ONE revision during the submission period. Any resubmission will be considered as a new submission and will count toward your submission limit. It is imperative to follow according to the email title specified, the wrong email title format will not be considered valid entry adjustment. We will reconfirm your entry within THREE business days via an email response.

 

Submission Requirements and Format
Please provide the following information:

1. Your email address

2. Your name: the name of the composer or the name of the team, which will be displayed in the game.

3. Team members: If you're submitting as a team, list all members here.

4. Song title: If there's a title in another language, note it here

5. Genre

6. Song BPM: Mark any changes in Milliseconds and Time signature.

7. Brief description of the song

8. Lyrics: Provide translations if necessary

9. Your social media links

10. Please master and submit your work as an *.mp3 (320kbps 44.1kHz), named "rotaeno_submission.mp3". Your file size should not exceed 50MB.

We will confirm your entry within THREE business days via an email response.
 

Handling of music submissions:

• All music submissions will be treated as confidential and used exclusively for the purposes of this open submission.

• Dream Engine Games will review all submissions entries and may select a portion of works to be featured within Dream Engine Games' games.

• Selected works may be subjected to concise feedback to ensure alignment with project specifications upon Dream Engine Games’ request.

• Selected songs published before the in-game reveal will result in an instant disqualification.

• Songs not selected will not be used or published in any way by Dream Engine Games.

• Unselected songs can be published after the results are announced.

Copyright Ownership and Agreement:

• Once submitted, all copyrights to the songs will remain with the entrant until Dream Engine Games enters into an agreement to purchase the rights to the songs.

• The winner will be signed to a contract with Dream Engine Games and will be paid a license fee for ownership of the song.

• Winners must be at least 18 years of age at the time of submission or have prior consent from a legal guardian.

 

Handling of personal information:

• Dream Engine Games strictly protects all personal information provided by entrants.

• Such information will be used solely for the purposes of this music submission campaign.

• Without the active consent of the entrant, Dream Engine Games will not use the entrant's personal information for any other purpose or disclose it to any third party.

• If an agreement cannot be reached regarding revisions, licensing (including fees), or any other required terms, Dream Engine Games reserves the rights to not proceed with the selected works.

• The number of selected entries will be determined by Dream Engine Games in its sole discretion. All of Dream Engine Games' decisions and interpretations are final and binding in all matters related to the Open Submission works.
